Monochrome Challenge

Hiya guys.  We have a new fortnightly challenge over at Craft Your Days Away.

The challenge this time round has been set by the lovely Doreen and her challenge for you is......

Monochrome

We want to see your creations using only one colour, or shades of one colour.  Use of skin tones and hair colours on an image is acceptable.  Other colours on image only should be kept to a minimum.

White and one other colour

Morning everyone.  We have lovely sunshine here in East Yorkshire though its a bit chilly and I think rain is forecast.  Pet and the kids are off to a music festival today, I just hope the rain holds off!  My plans to visit Crafty Emma today have fallen through so I'm going to be at my craft table and having fun whilst everyone's out - and I'll be dry lol.

Our new challenge has this time been chosen by the lovely Lesley and her challenge for you is...

'WHITE + ONE'

So it's white with just one other colour, you can use as many shades of your chosen one colour as you wish.  It is ok to use skin tones and a different colour for hair if neccessary.

 

I cannot tell you how many times I changed my mind about which image and colour I was going to use - I simply lost count lol.  Eventually I settled on one of the new images from Meljen's Designs out this month.....

Anniversaries

Hello everyone.  Finally got round to sorting my blog post out - better late than never eh!  Bloggers been leading us all a merry dance though this last day or two so at least I'm not alone lol, lets all hope its fixed now.

I'm getting gradually back into cardmaking after my recent sabbatical.  Have to say HRT is powerful stuff, I'm even back to cracking the whip at home to get Pete to get jobs done around the house hahahha.  Today he's done some brickwork around the fireplace in the dining room - tomorrow he's plastering it!!  Oooh it does feel good to be boss again, makes for a match made in heaven rofl.

I have a lovely day planned tomorrow as Pete is home and looking after the kids all day whilst I visit blogging buddy Crafty Emma for a cuppa.  Hope the day ends well too, unlike today when I got rear ended at the traffic lights in the village!  Couldn't believe it, only had the car about 3months as the last one got written off in an accident just before Christmas!!  I couldn't actually see any damage to my car, though the front of the flash BMW that hit me had a rather large dent lol!

Thats all from me for now though I'll be back with more cards over the weekend and some brand new rubber stamps from Whimsy Stamps that will be released this week and are just AWESOME!

Dust off Your Stash SCSC #133

Morning all.  Bit grey and overcast here in East Yorkshire, hope it warms up.  I've returned to work this week which went well.  If ever there was an advert for HRT - it'd be me rofl.  I feel sooooo much better!!  Am back crafting again now and I've my DT card for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge -

use something neglected - I used neglected papers and MS punch.

The paper was all I had left of my pad, I couldn't afford to trim it lol. Wendy has a fab range of pads in the Secret Crafter Store.  I also got my MS punch from her!

I used one of my fav images from Meljen's Designs, also neglected.

Spots and Stripes CYDA #17

Morning everyone.  Suns trying to break through the cloud here in East Yorkshire and we got a little spot of rain.  Hope it doesn't get heavy til after I've taken the dogs out!  Pete's coming home today so looking forward to that, Emily is chomping at the bit to see him as she's not seen him since Tuesday when she went away on her residential school trip.  She had a great time but did miss us - nearly knocked me off my feet when she threw her arms round me when I met her off the coach lol.

Whimsy Stamps April Blog Hop

A Meljen Beauty

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by.  This is a scheduled post as I'm working a 12hour shift again today, I'm soooo looking forward to the weekend off lol.  Pete's at home today,  he's having a long weekend at home so if I'm lucky there'll be a lovely cooked meal for me to come home too hahaha.

Thankyou so much for the well wishes for little Dylan.  He's coping really well with just the one eye though is still having to wear the lampshade.  His check up at the vets today went well and he's getting back his cheeky personality bless him, he was getting so down so it was definetly the right decision to remove the eye.  I'll get meself more organised next week and post a pic of him, he's so perky now its lovely to see.

I used an 8x8 card for this along with BG papers.  Coloured with copics and promarkers.  Flowers, gems and ribbons are from my stash and I used glamour dust glitter on the icing.

Meljen Madness

Hiya everyone, hope ya all had a fantabulous Christmas.  Santa's coming a second time to our home as my mum's coming today - loaded with presents for the children - she don't half spoil them lol.

As some of you know my craft stuff gets moved into the loft at the end of November so the whole family can use the dining room during the holidays.  I started moving my stash back downstairs on Tuesday and since then I've made TWELVE cards - think I've gone from withdrawal to overdose in two days rofl.

Some were DT makes which I can't show you yet but I have made some cards just for fun using some awesome images from Meljen's Designs.  I been itching to use these and it was driving me nuts that my stash was packed away - at least I got a headstart with next years Christmas cards.

A Victorian Treat

Hiya everyone,  brrr it's chilly outside.  I'm wrapping up warm today when I eventually venture out.  

Today I have a lovely image for you from Meljen's Designs.  The image is called Christmas Tree and was released yesterday, available exclusively from Whimsy Stamps HERE.  I meant to post this yesterday - thought I'd scheduled it,  but forgot - ooops lol!

I been playing with my die cuts again for this.  Die cuts are just becoming my new addiction - can't stop experimenting with them at the mo!!  I quite like this card - Melissa's images are so fresh and fun but the colour scheme and design gives a little Victorian touch I reckon.

Meljen Madness

Hiya everyone.  I'm soo excited that the children return to school tomorrow - looking forward to a bit of R and R time lol.  Some of you may have noticed I've been AWOL from recent DT challenges - thats because I've had to take a week off from my DT commitments to help me get the children ready and spend some quality time with them.  Like most parents I've been working and juggling the headache of childcare but then Ethan started to play up a little with it all so needed to nip that in the bud.  Touch wood, he seems to be settling down and went to his friends house this morning as reward for good behaviour so I've taken full advantage by making some cards for various challenges out at the moment.

For the first one, rather appropriately, I've used Meljen's Designs' Teddy Bear Teacher.

Making this card felt quite cathartic - couldn't stop smiling - I'm probably not the only parent counting down now to the new term starting judging by these challenges lol.
