Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge DT CARD #80

Hello everyone and thankyou to all who joined in Vicky's excellent "day out" challenge, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your creations, so individual and imaginative!!

This week at SCSC it's lovely Victoria's turn to set the theme and so this week we want to see..

" D I S T R E S S I N G "

So get your distressing tools, ink etc out and get distressing or tearing those gorgeous papers - anything really that ruins the papers rofl!!  Oooh, I've struggled with this one.  I'm having major problems at the moment with my mojo - don't know where it is!!  I made three different cards for this challenge and binned all of 'em, cos I wasn't happy with the end result.  I normally don't mind distressing and tearing perfectly good papers - it feels a bit naughty I reckon lol, but this week, just couldn't get me head round it!!!

Eventually, I binned the idea of a card altogether and completed another page for my husband's family scrapbook album.  At last a result I am pleased with...........................

Tom Cross was a merchant seaman and I love the top photo of him in a proper sailer suit!!  I thought the papers were perfect for this project and used twine and a stamp for embellies.   I used dark brown cardstock from stash and K&Co papers.  The edges of the papers were singed and the paper then scrumpled up.  The photo's were scanned and printed onto white paper - also then scrumpled up and inked.  The slipknots I made with white twine and inked them to get an aged effect.  The stamped image was donated by a friend of mine and I've had it a few years now, sorry, don't know the manufacturer.  The background of the stamped image was smudged with ink.

This is the last week to be entered into our monthly draw which this month is sponsored by

Di has very generously offered the winner 5 digi's of their choice and you can see her wonderful images here.

Please check out the challenge here and rest of the Design Teams creations, they've really worked some magic this week.  We really look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by - please don't by shy!  If I know you've popped in I can visit you and see all your makes.  Take care and happy crafting.

Hugs
