New Beginnings!!

Morning everyone.  Another scheduled post from me today.  I've an early start, off out with Emily as she has a soccer match and has to be at the far end of town by 9.30am.  We're picking my bro on the way, he's gonna come and cheer her along too.  I sooo hope he brings the team good luck, Emily's such a nightmare when they lose - soooo competitive!!!

We  have our first challenge of 2012 launching today at Craft Your Days Away Challenge.

We hope you all enjoyed a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our month long challenge over the festive period all wonderful snowman projects.

It's my turn to set the them this time and with the start of a brand new year I opted for.....

NEW BEGINNINGS

New beginnings could be something to do with the new year, a new baby, new job, new home or maybe a new life such as engagement, marriage or even divorce!!!  So it's time to celebrate a new event of some kind.

We welcome a brand new sponsor to CYDA to kick off the year....

The StampFairy Shop sell some of the cutest digistamps around, so if you've never visited the shop it is well worth the visit there is also a wonderful blog to follow for all the latest StampFairy news and wonderful samples by their DT.   And the lucky random winner of this challenge will recieve a.....

I chose to make a wedding card.  Last year I seemed to get caught out with the number of requests I had for these so thought it a good idea to get a head start lol.

My friends getting married this year and her fav colour is pink - even her dress is gonna be PINK!!!!  I'm sooo not a pink lady and really struggled to make a pink wedding card particularly as I find it a tricky colour to match and work with.  I certainly couldn't bring myself to colour the dress fully!  Instead, I opted for black and white - with little touches of pink.  I'm sure she'll still like this.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges.....

The Crafter's Challenge Cafe - New Year/New Beginnings
Karen's Doodles - Spots and Stripes
Just Tracys Crafts Challenge - Love is in the Air
By the Cute and Girly - New Beginnings
Bling It On - New Beginnings
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes/option of "New" Theme
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Black and White and one other Colour
Crafty Catz - New Beginnings

Thanks for stopping by,  Have a lovely weekend.

Howdy everyone.  I've been on nights so I apologise now if this blog post begins to lose sense lol, my brain not in full gear yet hahaha.

Well, I've had an eventful week.  Emily's been off school most of the week and at the start of it she was admitted to hospital with suspected appendicitis!!  Not good - but was given the all clear in the end without the need for surgery.  It was a nasty bug she had though!!!

CYDA #33 Embellishment Bingo

Awww I'm in for a busy day today.  Gotta get Ethan to his best friends birthday party, he's off paint balling - he's sure gonna love that, and will be absolutely BUZZING by this afternoon lol.  Whilst he's partying, I gotta get Emily to a football game.  She joined a girls soccer team and totally LOVES it.  She's very competitive and sporty and today is a cup match so if her team don't win - oooooh it don't bear thinking about!

Today we have a new challenge for you over at Craft Your Days Away.  This fortnights challenge is hosted by my lovely teamie and SIL Crafting Joanne.

She has come up with the awesome theme of....

EMBELLISHMENT BINGO

Wow, what a selection, fabulous range of embellies to choose from!  Our DT girlies have come up with some awesome designs for this one and you can check them out HERE.  This is what I came up with.........

Called "Hello Little Friend", this is one of several new stamps available from Sugar Nellie and you can see her HERE.  This card is outta me comfort zone a little as its so rare for me to use so many flowers and I NEVER use pins!!  I love the colour combi using some stray papers I didn't want to waste.  In the end I went for the top layer of the bingo card - LACE, PEARLS AND PINS.  I'm quite chuffed with how it turned out.  I hope you like it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'm off to wrap up warm now ready for Emily's game.  Enjoy your weekend.

CYDA #30 Tag It

Morning everyone and thanks for stopping by.  I'm sooo glad to get to the end of this week!!!!!!!!  We had a bit of a scare with Murphy, our elderly golden retriever.  The kids accidentally left the side gate open and Murphy took the opportunity to go for a wander!  The first knew of this was when I got a call from a stranger stating they were with him at the traffic lights in the village - and he's been hit by a car!

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!!!!  Thankfully he'd only been clipped according to the good samaritan but they were really angry with the driver as they said Murphy could clearly be seen crossing the road (though slowly) but the car failed to slow.  I suspect they thought Murphy would move out of the way but I doubt he could hear the car much and his visions not brilliant!!

The kids were so upset at what could have happened but there's a second bolt on the  gate now that they find hard to open!  I took Murphy straight to the vet for a check up and thankfully he was given the all clear so he's none the worse for it all.

*********************************

We have another new challenge for you today over at Craft Your Days Away.   This time we want to see TAGS, they can be either on your project or be your project!!  I opted to make tags for the kids main gifts this Xmas as I always plan to do this but have never gotten round to it until now!!

I've used a selection of fun images from Mo's Digital Pencil, I just couldn't resist them and they were PERFECT for this project, I just know the kids are gonna luv 'em!

Our sponsor this time is......................

We do hope you can join us.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a lovely weekend.

I'm really chuffed with how it turned out.

CYDA #27 Cupcakes

Morning everyone, we have glorious sunshine here in East Yorkshire this morning and it's lovely and warm already!!

We have another fantastic challenge for you over at Craft Your Days Away. HUGE thankyou to everyone who took part in our Birthday celebrations last time.

This time our theme for you is.......

CUPCAKES

I used this little sweetie from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I've had him a while and just never got round to using him til now!  Does anyone else buy digi's that you just HAVE to have - then take a while to colour em up - or is that just me rofl.

The papers are my new addiction - digi papers!!  These ones are part of a freebie kit available from Summertime Designs HERE.  Aren't they just scrummy!

I coloured with copics and promarkers and used glamour dust to bling up the icing a little.  The sentiment is by Craftwork Cards and I used my nesties for matting.  As the papers are so yummy and gorgeous I didn't want to cover them up with embellies - hence the one lonely card candy lol.   Hope its ok and you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

White and one other colour

Morning everyone.  We have lovely sunshine here in East Yorkshire though its a bit chilly and I think rain is forecast.  Pet and the kids are off to a music festival today, I just hope the rain holds off!  My plans to visit Crafty Emma today have fallen through so I'm going to be at my craft table and having fun whilst everyone's out - and I'll be dry lol.

Today we have another challenge for you over at Craft Your Days Away but first I'd like to give a HUGE welcome to our new DT members

It's so lovely to have these ladies joining us and I'll be popping along to their blogs later and leaving some love.

Our new challenge has this time been chosen by the lovely Lesley and her challenge for you is...

'WHITE + ONE'

So it's white with just one other colour, you can use as many shades of your chosen one colour as you wish.  It is ok to use skin tones and a different colour for hair if neccessary.

I cannot tell you how many times I changed my mind about which image and colour I was going to use - I simply lost count lol.  Eventually I settled on one of the new images from Meljen's Designs out this month.....

LOVE and Update on Dylan

Hello everyone and a happy Saturday to you.  We have another challenge for you over at Craft Your Days Away and this week its the turn of the lovely  Shelley to set our theme.................

" L O V E "

Our sponsor this time is Meljen's Designs and the DT were given a choice of images to work with.  I opted for this little cutie "Teeny Mouse Hug".  I found this fabulous, gorgeous paper in me stash of 12x12.  It's called "Sweet Dreams" and is by the Craft House - I've no idea how long I've had it or where I bought it from.  The heart added at the end of the ribbon is a sticker from a 12x12 pack of BG papers.

My lovely team buddies have come up trumps and made some stunning projects to get your creative juices flowing, check out the challenge blog HERE for a peek and for details of the prize on offer.
Can't wait to see what you come up with - good luck.

***********************

Just wanted to let everyone know that my little furbaby Dylan's doing really well.  I took him to the vets yesterday and they're so pleased with his progress they've discharged him - whoo hooo - and the lampshade is no more lol.  He's so much brighter and happier in himself and appears to have adjusted to having one eye really easily.  I still haven't got round to taking a pic but I promise I will do that in the next week.  Thankyou everyone for all your kind words and best wishes.

Anything Goes

Hiya and welcome to my third and final post of the day, I'm running a bit behind now so I apologise.  Dylan is now safely back at home.  He does look a bit freaky with one eye stitched up and all the fur around it shaved.  Big thankyou to my SIL and CYDA teamie Joanne for taking me to pick him up from the vets.  He cried all the way home, think it was both his eagerness to get home and the fact we were in Jo's car and not our own - bit strange for him!!!  He settled down as soon as we were home and is now curled up asleep in front of the fire and cuddled up with my other dog, Murphy.  I'm so relieved he's home.  In a few days we can start taking off that horrible lampshade from round his neck - that'll perk him up big style lol.

*************************

We have our first challenge of the year from Craft Your Days Away Challenge Blog. We are all feeling fully refreshed and raring to go!  This week is the turn of my lovely teamie  Liz to set the challenge and she's set a brilliant one to warm up your mojo and break you gently back into the swing of crafting.  Our theme this week is.......

Anything Goes

I made this card at the request of a work colleague who needed a retirement card for a male friend of the family.  She informed me he liked DIY projects and stipulated the card must have his name on and say 65 somewhere on it.

I think it turned out quite well.  The punched edge reminds me of a saw and I am soo loving this particular BG paper, I gotta get more!  I coloured with copics and promarkers and used a woodware inverted corner punch.  I initially wanted the tabs either side of the image at the top of the card, mimicking his dungarees but that just didn't work.  The brads from my stash are just PERFECT with this image.  The name plate and sentiment were done on my lappy and I used my large oval nesties.  Cardstock is also from my stash.

My colleague was chuffed to bits with it though I've yet to find out if the recipient liked it.

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp.

The rest of the Design Team have created some really awesome projects for this and you can check them out on the challenge blog HERE.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Paper Play - Clean and Simple
Stamp Something - Use a Digi
PaperCutz - Use Metal (brads)

We really hope you can join us for our first challenge of 2011 and can't wait to see your creations.

Thanks for stopping by

Hiya, oooh I'm so sorry  everyone.  I've been spending some quality time with the children as they've been so upset that their dad still can't get home for weekend.  We're now expecting him next Friday so thats three weeks he'll have been away.  they're missing him so much bless them.  In concentrating on them I forget my CYDA post was incomplete and in draft - am soooo late now, sorry guys!
We're onto our final challenge for 2010 here at Craft Your Days Away and we're all  taking a break over the Christmas period so this challenge will run into the new year so plenty of time to enter.

Challenge #10 has been set by the wonderful Doreen and her challenge for you is....
'PUNCH IT OUT'
We want to see you using your punches and/or die-cutters for this one and here's my little creation............

The timing of this challenge was just perfect cos my new guilty pleasure is diecuts - guilty cos I've spent a small fortune on nesties in all lol, and pleasure cos I just can't get enough of experimenting with them.

I used a 5x5 card for this and LOVED faffing with my nesties for this one.  The cardstock is from my stash and I used classic squares large, standard large circle and petite scallop circle large nesties along with my Spellbinders Pendants Shapeabilities "Fleur De Lis", all available from the Secret Crafter store HERE.

The image is Christmas Wreath Pinecones digital image by Just Inklined Digi Stamps and available to purchase HERE.

I used my watercolour pencils to colour and bling from my stash.

We have a fabulous prize on offer for one lucky winner.  Please check out the challenge blog for details and if you have time please take a peek at the rather special creations my fabulous DT buddies have created to inspire you.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges

Hiya everyone, I should be takin g Emily to gymnastics this morning but just been out in the car and the indicator lights won't turn on!!!  Felt really scary as I was coming back through traffic lights in the village so am gonna give Hull a miss today - really don't fancy driving anywhere til its fixed.  Good job Pete has come home this weekend though he's not happy at having jobs to do already lol.

We have another fortnightly challenge for you this week at Craft Your Days Away.  The theme this week, set by the lovely Lesley is...........

"Christmas Trees"

Christmas tree(s) can be the main focus point of your project or they can be in the background or maybe just a verse about Christmas Trees there are many ways to interpret this one.

Here's my creation using a freebie from our sponsor Charmed Cards and Crafts and available to download HERE.

As well as using the freebie, I also used "Festive Holly and Mikey" from the Mixed Christmas digi collection which you can purchase HERE.  I have several of the Charmed collections, they are just gorgeous and such amazing value for money.

I used black cardstock from my stash, BG papers and coloured the images with copics and promarkers.  I also added stickles glue which caused me to take another pic this morning in daylight as the snow looked PINK when I took the pic at night with the lights on lol -it was driving me NUTS lol.
