Photo Inspiration SCSC #137

Ooooh I'm running sooooo late today!!!  Hiya everyone, hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weather we're having at the mo if you're in the UK.  I've been sunning myself in the garden as I've had the week off whilst the kids are on half term holiday.  We've had a four legged lodger too in the form of Harvey, my friends two year old Basset Hound.  It was great having a young dog in the house again, certainly good practice for me getting the pup.  I was glad to give him back though as he found it great fun to terrorise our cats lol.

Today we have another challenge for you over at the Secret Crafter. We have a photo inspiration for you this time and my DT buddies have come up with a wonderful variety of cards to get your creative juices flowing!  Here's my effort using this fabby image from Mo......

and the photo inspiration.........

I used some rather gorgeous BG papers available from the Secret Crafter Store, along with copics and promarkers.  I kept the embellies simple with a little card candy.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge....

Stamp Something - Digi Day

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm off to blitz my 10year old daughters bedroom now as it looks as if a bomb or two has exploded in there!! - I could be a while - wish me luck lol.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Clean and Simple

Morning everyone.  I'm posting from a very blustery Filey, up on the east Yorkshire coast.  We're here with my brother in law for the bank holiday weekend.  Everyone's gone swimming apart from me, I have the caravan to myself, a cuppa by my side ANNND - I've finally got internet connection - BLISS!!

We have a challenge for you from the Secret Crafter today.  It's a good one that I'm sure will be VERY popular!!  This week we want to see......

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

I've used this rather sweet LOTV stamp and coloured with promarker (available from the Secret Crafter store along the glamour dust added for a little bling).  The sentiment I did on the lappy and used my spellbinders die for shape and matting (also available from the Secret Crafter store).

My team buddies have come up trumps with some cracking makes to inspire you and you can check them out HERE.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a great weekend whatever you're up to.  I reckon the heavens are gonna open up here as the skies gone quite dark, good job I've brought my brolly rofl.

Dust off Your Stash SCSC #133

Morning all.  Bit grey and overcast here in East Yorkshire, hope it warms up.  I've returned to work this week which went well.  If ever there was an advert for HRT - it'd be me rofl.  I feel sooooo much better!!  Am back crafting again now and I've my DT card for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge -

use something neglected - I used neglected papers and MS punch.

The paper was all I had left of my pad, I couldn't afford to trim it lol. Wendy has a fab range of pads in the Secret Crafter Store.  I also got my MS punch from her!

I used one of my fav images from Meljen's Designs, also neglected.

Please check out the fabby creations by my teamies, they've come up trumps once again.

I'm off now for me brew before I take Emily to gymnastics.

Take care everyone, thanks for stopping by.

Pink, Brown and Cream. SCSC #131

Hello everyone and what glorious weather we're having here in the UK at the moment.  Very surprising for a bank holiday weekend don't ya think lol.  I've been decorating a downstairs room and demolishing part of the chimney breast ready for a wood burning stove - can't wait til its all done as my craft stash is going to be very well organised with designated workspace - whoo hoooo!!!

Today we have a super colour scheme challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday.  We'd like to see creations that are predominantly

PINK, BROWN and CREAM

This was a perfect opportunity to use this fabby image from Karen's Doodles and combine with this rather gorgeous BG papers which I purchased from the Secret Crafter Shop.  Wendy has a lovely range of papers in the store and I'll be going shopping there soon as my supplies NEED replenishing and I shall be purchasing this pad again cos I love it soo much!!

This image is just so adorable and a sign of things to come I reckon!  As those of you that know me well will be aware, I've wanted a cocker spaniel for at least eight years.  Now my own two dogs will be thirteen this year we've decided the time is right to invite another four legged fiend into our family!!!!  I've found a wonderful breeder just up the road from us and recommended by our vet.  He is mating one of his dogs this very weekend so hopefully we will have a new puppy joining us at the end of August!!!!!  Plenty of time to puppy proof the cushions dontcha think rofl.

I'm also going to be dropping my hours at work so I'll have more time for crafting (in between puppy training of course lol).  Wonder if I can train a pup to colour match my ribbons to cards and not run off with my stash rofl.

Please don't forget to check out the fabulous creations by my DT buddies HERE.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges..........

Karen's Doodles - Lots of Layers
Cupcake Challenge - Lots of Layers
Stamp with Fun - Birthday
Creative Inspirations - Pets/Animals

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Easter one and all.

With Love - SECRET CRAFTER DT

Hiya everyone. Very blustery today here in East Yorkshire.  Won't be going far today, maybe a walk to the shops for some bits and bobs.  I am missing not having a motor!  Am saving hard as plan to get a new one end March, unless I start going crazy beforehand, then I'll be getting one in February lol.  I'm determined to buy one outright, don't want to give in and get a loan as you pay loads more back in interest.  I'll be wrapping up warm and taking the dogs out for a walk, they're missing not having a car as can't get to our full variety of walks we do.  Dylans doing really well and managing well with just the one eye.  The vets really pleased with his progress so far and hopefully the lampshade can be removed for good next Friday.  He's getting his little spark and personality back which is lovely to see.

Today we have another challenge for you over at the Secret Crafter.  This week our theme is.......

With Love

It could be love images or papers or just "with love" sentiment - it's up to you.  I had in mind my mum for this card and here's what I came up with.......

I used one of my rather neglected PB images here and some HOTP papers I found in my stash.  I coloured with copics and promarkers available from the Secret Crafter Store.  The nestie and gems are also from the store.  Ribbon and cardstock is from my stash.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges.......

PaperPlay - Cutie Patootie
Totally Gorjuss - Cuddly
Penny Black at Allsorts - All You Need is Love

We do hope you can join in the fun.  Can't wait to see what your fabulous creations for this.

Update on Dylan - and New SCSC Challenge

Hellooooo there.  Thanks for stopping by, I do need cheering up.  Had some sad news this week.  Firstly my little Llasa Apso dog Dylan sadly had one of his eyes removed yesterday.  As some of you know he'd developed an ulcer on the cornea several weeks ago now.  Following a series of aggressive treatments and several ops it was deemed unresponsive to treatment and the likelihood of that changing with if we persevered was remote.  This was definetely the right decision as I worried each time they anaesthetised him due to his age and I know with such a disability just adjust without difficulty.  I did shed a little tear though, I know the kids have since come along but he's one of my original "kids" - my furbaby lol. He is 12years old and we've had him since he was 4months old.    He had to stay in hospital overnight but waiting to hear if they'll let him out today - can't wait to get him home and give him a big cuddle.

Secondly, as you know we had a little car crash four days before Christmas and I've had no car since then.  Got a quote today for the repairs - a right hefty bill - far more than the car is worth so looks like I'll be car less for a couple of months until we can save some money for a new one.  Thats my full set of new promarkers on a backburner and no more crafty spends - oh well, thats life!

***********************

On a lighter note we have a new challenge for you at the Secret Crafter Saturday. This week we want to see

Tons of Texture

I don't know about you but I think I'm slowly getting back into the swing of crafting again after Christmas.  Here's my little creation, bit low on the texture maybe but don't think my mojo had fully picked up speed lol

I used one of my new LOTV stamps here and some rather gorgeous HOTP double sided 12x12 papers I found in my rather large stash.  They could easily have been sat there five years lol - I kid you not.  Does anyone else buy papers that they love and then resist using them - just stroke them instead, or is that just me lmao.

I used spellbinders large circle and large small scallop circle die for matting, colouring the image with copics, promarkers all available from the Secret Crafter along with the flowers.  The card candy and sentiment are by Craftwork Cards.  The flourish is a sizzix die cut and is new - I LOVE IT!!!!!

Remember, by entering the challenge you will be automatically entered into the monthly draw in which you could win something from the shop or a £20 voucher to spend in the shop - happy days!!!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges....

MAWTT - Ring out the Old, Ring in the New
Cute Card Thursday -  Out with the Old (papers) GDT

I'm off to put the kettle on now but I'll be back later with another card and some exciting news - tease or what rofl.

Buttons and Bows SECRET CRAFTER DT

Well helloooo there and a very happy New Year to you all.  Hope you all had a fandabby night and not suffering too much this morning.  I've had a lovely time with my family over the holiday period and spent yesterday watching telly and making cards.  I was however working last night unfortunately so this is a scheduled post.  I should by now be tucked up in the land of nod, at Jo's, my SIL, otherwise known in blogland as Crafting Joanne

I have my first blog post of the year and my first Design Team Card of 2011 - whoo hoo.  After a much appreciated break we have our first challenge of 2011 from the Secret Crafter Saturday.  This is a lovely one which I'm sure will be popular as its just perfect for all those stamps you stashed away when you started your stockpile of Christmas cards lol.

This week we want to see.................

"Buttons and Bows"

I dusted down my Penny Black stamps for this, they're so neglected this last year - definetly gonna use hem more in 2011.  I finally settled on these awesome hedgies - perfect.

I coloured with copics and promarkers from the Secret Crafter store.  I used an inverted woodware punch and a normal one. Also a MS border punch, also available from the store.  The ribbon and cardstock is from my stash.  The buttons are part of a caddy pack which I think is papermania.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge....

DT CARD Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #114

Morning everyone.  Brrrr its chilly here this morning.  Pete finally made it home yesterday and we worked it out - he's actually been away for FIVE weeks in total!  He picked the children up from school with me and they flew at him, nearly knocking him off his feet lol.  I'm sure he didn't mind given the big hug they gave him hahaha.  So today we're FINALLY putting up the Christmas Tree as the kids have refused to have it up until their dad comes home - awwww!  We're all looking forward to a bit of quality family time now and he's not going back to work until the 27th for a couple of days - whooo hooo.

I'm a little on tenderhooks though today as our old man, Dylan, the 12yr old Lhasa Apso dog is in hospital and undergoing an operation this afternoon.  I took him to vets yesterday as I'd seen a problem with his eye - turns out he has a huge ulcer on it and the vets are worried his eye will collapse!!  He's going to have some aggressive treatment and they have to stitch his third eye lid over to help the healing process!!  Because he's old he's having the works - full bloods, IV fluids etc!!  Luckily he's insured but its still a worry, I hope everything goes well.

Today we have super new challenge from the Secret Crafter, perfect for anyone thats seen enough of Christmas cards, this time our challenge is ...............
" In the Farmyard"

This is our last challenge of 2010 and will run for TWO weeks so plenty of time to join in.  Please check out the challenge blog HERE for sponsor details.

I used one my many PB stamps, I should try to use them more often!!!!  I coloured with copics and promarkers available from the Secret Crafter store.  The MS punch used along the border can also be purchased from the store.  I also used a inverted corner punch by Woodware. The cardstock, flower, brad and charm is from my stash as was the paper.

Thankyou for stopping by and I would just like to thank everyone also for supporting me this year, I am sorry I haven't had as much time for blog hopping since returning to work from my long sickness period.  Hopefully I can amend this in the new year with a job change!

Merry Christmas to all and a very happy New Year.

DT CARD Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #113

Hiya everyone, hope you are all keeping well and coping with this awful wintery weather, looks like we have a short break from the sub zero temps for a few days before it all moves in again, don't know about everyone else but I can't wait for all the snow and ice to go away for good!  I'm booking spring to start 1st January hahahhaaha.
I have a lovely weekend planned with the children.  They are so upset their dad hasn't been able to home for the last two weekends.  They have even put off putting the Christmas Tree up until he's home!!!  Bless 'em.   So today I'm taking them over to North Lincolnshire to cheer them up.  They're wanting to look at Christmas Decorations and maybe choose a few for their room, so we have a date with Brigg Garden Centre.  We're also making buns and attempting our very own Christmas Crackers too which I'm so looking forward to.
**************************
My lovely DT buddy Tracie has a brilliant challenge for us over on the Secret Crafter Saturday.  It's just the ticket if you need your spirits lifting from our cold weather!!

Being a colour challenge, you can let your imagination run wild - you don't even have to make it a Christmas Card........

This was a perfect opportunity for me to play with a new LOTV stamp and a PB sentiment I've had my eye on for as long as I can remember!
these gorgeous BG papers "Lemonade", available from Wendy's Secret Crafter Store HERE.  I think I'll be getting another of these packs!

I used my trusty nesties to mat the image along with copics and promarkers,  all available from the STORE.  The flowers, ribbon and cardstock is from my stash.

We'd love to see you play along, can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges.....

Cute Card Thursday - Floral Frenzy
Crafty Emma's Challenge - Anything but a Christmas Card

I'm off for a brew now and then getting ready for our day out.  I hope the roads are ok, I think its supposed to be relatively warm today.

Thanks for stopping by, wrap up warm if you're venturing out and take care.

DT CARD Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #108

Good morning everyone, and a very wintery one it is too.  It's not snowing any more but there is so much snow on the ground that minor detail really doesn't matter.  I'm planning to stay in and keep warm with the children this weekend, maybe watch a few DVD's.   I'm definetely going to be having a right good spring clean ready to start putting up the Christmas decorations tomorrow.  I'm feeling quite excited about it actually lol.

Anyhow, I've got ahead with most of DT stuff so lots of my stash is banished to the loft now til mid December so we can all use the dining room during the holiday season.

Today I have the first of these completed cards.  We have a super new challenge for you over at the Secret Crafter this week.  This time set by the lovely Suzie, our theme is........

" C H R I S T M A S "

Please check out the rather fabby creations by my wonderful DT buddies on the challenge blog, we all sure have had fun with this one.

Morning everyone, hope you're all well and bet you're looking forward to a lovely weekend.  I'm chuffed because Pete came home unexpectedly last night and will be spending the weekend at home before heading away to work again at the weekend.  Looking forward to some quality family time.!!!!!

We have a another wonderful challenge for you over at the Secret Crafter this week, a HUGE thanks to everyone who took part in our "Red and Gold" challenge.    Set by the lovely Helen, our theme this week is

"Sparkle and Shine"

I've used one of the new Secret Crafter Digital images "Christmas Sledging", available exclusively from the Secret Crafter Store HERE.   Its just sooooo gorgeous, such a super fun image and makes a change from the cuddly Chrimbo critters I have so many of - I love it!!!

I've used cardstock from my stash and the papers I think are by Papermania.  I coloured with copics and promarkers and used glitter glue to add an icy look to the background.  These products are all available from the Secret Crafter store.

I do NOT know what was going on with my camera when I took this pic - think it could've been the artificial lights in the room - but this card does not really have PINK snow - as if rofl!!!

I'm entering this card into the following challenge ....

Creative Inspirations -  A Pink Xmas

My teamies have come up with some amazing creations this week and you can check them out HERE.   We do hope you can join in the fun and can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'm off to get dressed now and finish my brew in time for 9 o'clock.  I have a date at the post office as soon as it opens to pick up a parcel from Wendy at the Secret Crafter Store - whoo hoooo!  I missed the postie in the week due to working - ggrrrrr!  I've ordered some new die cuts and just can't wait to get my hands on them!!!  I did some experimenting earlier in the week and you can see the results HERE.

DT CARD Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #106

Hello everyone and thankyou for stopping by.  It's Saturday so that means another challenge at SCSC, HUGE thanks to all of you that took part in last weeks Oriental theme.

This week we are celebrating the launch of more Secret Crafter stamps - this time purely available in digital format from the Secret Crafter shop.

The first is called "Christmas Angel"

and the second one - "Christmas Sledging"

aren't they just superb.  I've not yet had chance to play with them and I'm itching to!!!

To celebrate their release, our theme this week is

" M A N G A "

So we want to see all your manga style images on your creations.  Here's my effort using one of the Secret Crafters own range of rubber stamps.

This image, "Shy Mollie" is also available in digital format HERE.   I've used BG papers from the SC shop and BoBunny paper.  The cardstock and photocorner is from my stash.  The colouring medium used is copics and promarkers also from the SC shop.

Please check out the challenge blog and all the wonderful creations by my lovely teamies HERE.  We can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'm gonna chill out now for the rest of the weekend after a pretty stressful week.  Pete, my husband was involved in an RTA involving four cars on the M4 on Thursday, writing the car off!  An articulated lorry coming up behind them all managed to swerve into a gap in the next lane and stop - miraculously hitting no one!!  Everyone managed luckily to walk away from the incident and Pete, though a bit shaken is home now with just whiplash.  The police say guardian angels must've been watching over all those involved that day!!!!

Thankyou for the kind words of support I've received from those of you that knew, it meant a lot!!  Enjoy your weekend everyone and take care - particularly if driving!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #103

Hello everyone, Saturday means its time for another fabulous challenge over at the Secret Crafter Saturday.  This week is turn of the lovely Tracie to set the theme and so this week we want to see something.................

I'm on a Roll Now lol!!!!!!

Hiya everyone - ooh it does feel good to be back.  I've another card for you today - this time my DT card for the wonderful Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and
we have a fabulous Guest DT for the month of October - KATE (DOWNRIGHTCRAFTY) has agreed to join us - great to see you Kate.

This weeks theme, chosen by the lovely Suzie is......

"D i s t r e s s i n g"

and I can honestly tell you - it most definetely was rofl. You can "distress" your creations by tearing, roughing with a tool or ink/chalk, crumpling up the paper - it's up to you.  Here's my little effort

I've had this simply gorgeous BG paper from Wendy's Secret Crafter store.  I've been saving this particular pattern to use specifically with this image.  I can't tell you how WRONG it felt to crumple it (though the pic doesn't show this well)  and I just had to keep the roughing up of the edges to a minimum - I was nearly hyperventilating rofl.

I coloured with copics and promarkers from the Secret Crafter Store along with the blue flowers .  The red flowers were found in my stash as was the sizzix die cut swirls.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges

Craft Your Passion - Crumpled Paper
Create for Fun - Use a Digi Image
Pollycraft - Anything Goes

Please check out the rest of the creations from my DT buddies and leave em some love - they really do appreciate it.  We do hope you can join us this week and can't wait to see your distressed creations - be strong - its only paper lol.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'm off for a girly shop today with my daughter Emily who turned 10 on Thursday!  Boo Hoo - she growing up WAAAY to fast - not fair (sob) Hahaha

Bye for now and enjoy your weekend.
