Dottie's World and Sketch Saturday

Afternoon everyone. What a lovely day it is today, glorious sunshine and quite warm too! The children both returned to school today after being unwell since Thursday! I'm now relishing a bit of peace and tranquility, catching up on some crafting! I've another two challenge card, this one's for

Sketch Saturday - Sketch

and

Dottie's World

The challenge over on Dottie's World this week, was set by Nicole and she wants to see the colours Red, White and Black. Of course, a Charmed download must be included! For this I've used the scruffy pup from the Charming Xmas download collection. Isn't he cute! Actually,my golden retriever Murphy, was the inspiration here, as he nicked Ethan's sandwich bag off the worktop this morning, there's NOOO way I could leave meat unattended when he's around!!

I've used my new punch I only bought yesterday and some bling I've been dying to use! Underneath the silver brad is a black punched snowflake. The pawprint is a stamp made by a local crafter I've known quite a few years and she's now set up in business with her own rubber stamp designs, - certainly one to keep an eye on!!!

RECIPE

Download - Charmed Cards and Crafts
Colouring Mediums - Copics and watercolour pencils
Cardstock - stash
Punches - Ma
rtha Stewart, X Cut and Woodware
Ribbon - Papermania
Flowers - stash
Bling - Prima
Snowflake brad - Papermania
Pawprint stamp - Oakhouse Studio
Sentiment - done on laptop

Penny Black & Sunday Sketch and Stamp

Morning everyone! Hope you're all well. Has anyone done their Xmas shopping yet? I haven't even started yet but the Xmas spirit is definetly warming up!! I'm back with a two in one challenge for

Sunday Sketch and Stamp - Sketch

and

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Christmas for the Guys

I've thoroughly enjoyed this challenge! The sketch is fab and I've used one of my most favourite PB stamps (but I do have a few LOL!). I love working with this image and it never bores me! It does lend itself so well to this challenge and reminds me of the dodgy knitted jumpers my bro and I used to receive from certain aunts in the 70's!! Gosh I'm showing my age - ahem, swifty moving on

I've layered snowflake stickers, colouring one in with a permanent black peeloff marker. On top of this is a black punched snowflake, all topped off with a silver brad!

RECIPE

Penny Black stamp - Especially for You 1511K
Colouring Mediums - Copics, watercolour pencils and peel off markers
Cardstock - stash
Papers - DCWV
Tag - Doodlebug sticker
Green ribbon - Papermania (I think)
Stickers - Papermania
Brad - Papermania

Thankyou for stopping by my little haven here in cyberspace. Please feel free to leave a comment, I love reading them. Happy crafting everyone!

Fireman for Mo

Good evening everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend!! The children have been recovering from some kind of bug! Ethan in particular was quite poorly, very feverish and got sent home from school on Friday, it came on all of a sudden! Saturday morning I was expecting a retired fireman from the fire brigade to come round and fit smoke alarms. I had signed up for it in the summer. What a surprise when the whole watch from the local station turned up at 9am - complete with fire engine!! E was sooo excited (so was mummy!!LOL), he suddenly felt well enough to want to play outside - what a surprise!! The firemen were brilliant, showed him around the fire engine and let him sit inside. One even lent him his helmet. E was well chuffed and I quickly reached for the camera!!

Inspired by the scale of visit by the Brigade, I have done this card for Ethan's best friend who is seven today and had a fabulous party ten pin bowling!! I'm sure he'll love it and it's my first attempt at an easel card which seems to be all the rage at present!!

I'm also gonna submit this as my first card entry for

Mo's Digital Pencil Too Challenge

Mo has sooo many fabby images I've never known where to start but, after our morning with the firemen I KNEW I had to take this image from my rather long wish list and make him reality!!!

Christmas Scrapbook 2009

Morning everybody. It's well nippy here, there's even a ground frost. Have whacked the fire and the heating on this morning! Hope your all well and looking forward to the weekend. I'm collecting the motor from the garage today with Mr Blogger who's home for just one day!! The heaters all fixed so the car should get lovely and toasty on my early morning starts!!

My early New Year Resolution as you may know is to crack on and catch up with scrapping my photos. I just don't seem to have the time most of the time!! Well, this year I have a cunning plan. I bought an 8x8 chipboard album by Papermania and plan to scrap as Christmas rolls along this year!! I've already covered both the front and back covers. Here's the end result for the cover...

I've had a book of papers for at least two years and didn't want to cut them up cos I liked the too much (sad I know) . But I've set to and used it for the album. Each page inside has been covered with initial background paper from Hot of the Press Christmas Pack and the scraps I've stashed safely for later. All they need are photos and embellies! So within hours of the tree going up - I can have it scrapped. I plan to continue like this and cover all our Christmas activities and get togethers this year. Gosh I've never been so organised!

My two have already started their Christmas lists and they revisit them every other day just about, LOL!!! I have scrapped this as a double page LO using the inside cover and first page. I have a little container full of Xmas stickers, scraps of paper and things I've collected over the last few years and have now begun to put them to good use! I also enjoy using stamps on my LOs.

I love the 2nd part of the layout. At this point I was entertained by their conversation. They were oblivious to my presence and their discussion revolved around whether or not Ethan has been good enough NOT to be placed on the naughty list this year!!! He rounded it off by saying he would tell Santa that he had never been naughty on purpose or without good reason!! The letter and angels are stamps. The halo has slipped on the angel alongside the letter, appropriate I thought!! The angel in the bottom corner is placed on an envelope. When their final draft is complete, I plan to place inside a Wishlist Top Ten for each of them to look back on in years to come!

I hope you like it so far. Sorry for the picture quality, I couldn't get the exposure right!.

Please feel free to leave a post! Happy crafting and enjoy your day!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 73 - "White on White"

Hiya everyone, what a lovely sunny day it here! I'm suffering today with a sore back having slipped on the stairs last night!! The purse will be suffering a bit today too as the motor is in the garage - a few banging and rattling noises and a defunct heater! Today, the challenge entry is for Penny Black Saturday. I really enjoyed this though didn't think I would, the challenge being that all papers and embellies be white! I sooo need all the embossing kits for this one (and a new die cut machine please Santa LOL!). The punched snowflakes have been covered with glamour dust and the snow on the umbrella is white flower soft.

PB Stamp - Winter Snuggles 2999J
Christmas Vellum - Anita's
Bling Ribbon - Papermania
Funky Fibre - stash
Snowflake brad - papermania
Snowflake Punch - XCut
Border Punch - unknown

"Happy Halloween-ish"

This challenge was posted on 11 October and is the third in this four week competition. As not everyone is into Halloween, this challenge allowed us to just apply Halloween colours such as orange/black/purple if we wished. The only rule being that a Charmed Download be used.

As I was preparing a crafty birthday party for Emmy (her request) and, as she wants to go Trick or Treating this year, I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to make a party gift bag!!

One Little Witch

I used one of the images from Pixie Chicks Collection1 and snipped off her wings!! The flower in her hair didn't really fit the theme so I improvised with a spider/hat using four pieces of black wool sewn to a black button. A light smattering of glitter was applied to her clothing.

RECIPE

Black Paper - my stash
Template - Papermania
Cobweb Papers - DCWV
Ribbon - Doodlebug
Orange Frilly Thing - my stash
Broomstick Stamp - Woodware
Colouring Medium - watercolour pencils and copics

Penny Black Saturday Challenge (Week 70)

This card is for my friends daughter who turns three tomorrow. She loves bright colours and sweets, so, as I've been dying to use these papers and set of teddies, I decided to combine it with the "Buttons and Bows Challenge" over on Penny Black Saturday. Again you can create a card.....altered art..bag..notebook or scrap layout...the only RULE being that you use at least one Penny Black image or sentiment. The background paper used here is textured and glittery. I've put little blue buttons in opposite corners to create button lollipops!

Recipe

Stamps - PB Bear Blanks 1 - 4
Card - Craftwork Cards
Background Papers - DCWV and Sizzix
White Ribbon - Doodlebug
Red Bows - from my stash
Buttons - Papermania
Colouring Medium - Copics and watercolour pencils
Lettering - DoCrafts stamps

Thankyou for stopping by and I look forward to seeing all your creations!

Hugs
